There are others like google scholar, etc. Unfortunately I dont think theres enough openaccess articles but surprisingly theres a big push more and more and I think the movement is gaining steam. unpaywall is a great organization for example. But yes, when it comes to hallucination, we see it the most, from my experience, in the citations for sure.
I use Pubmed directly rather than AI. Even peer-reviewed articles can have fake references when checked in Pubmed, but fewer.
